Have you ever faced a time in your life where you felt like you just didn’t know how to move forward? Maybe you just went through something traumatic and no matter how hard you tried, you just couldn’t seem to get past it and go on with your life. Or, maybe you just felt stuck and did’t know how to proceed. Perhaps that is the season you are in right now. You try to find the way ahead and you just can’t seem to do it. You feel lost and alone.
I have been there. I remember when my husband first left and I was faced with the sudden change of being alone, feeling like my life had just been ripped away from me and having to face raising 3 kids as a single-mom. I had no idea how on earth to move forward. Every time I thought about going on without the love of my life, the person I trusted with my heart, I just broke down. I felt lost and alone and thought I would never be able to get past this. It was then I cried out to God begging him to tell me how to move on, how to move forward in this pain. His response to my cry was that I didn’t have to move forward, I just needed to move over. Move over? What on earth does that mean? Well it actually means just that. MOVE OVER…then let God take the lead and show you where He wants you to go. He understands everything we are going through and He knows the path that He has planned for us. Now that felt like something I could do. With all the responsibilities I was facing, how refreshing it was to be able to say, ok God, you lead the way. All I had to do was be willing to follow him. I also realized that I wasn’t going alone, I was moving on with the true love of my life…Jesus..and it was in Him that I could truly place my trust without ever having to worry that he would leave.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
“Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20 NLT
God already has a plan and a purpose for everything that happens in our life, and we know that his plans for us are good.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
So if today, you feel like you can’t move forward, like you can’t possibly go on from where you are, just Move Over and let God take the lead. All you need to do, is what you were created to do anyway follow Him!
